Albert E. (Al) Smith

Albert E. “Al” Smith, age 87 of Mc Keesport, quietly and peacefully took his final journey to be with his heavenly father on June 22, 2018. A shipper and receiver for Nabisco of fifty years, Al sorted, pulled, packaged, and shipped many Nabisco products. Even in his latter years, Al could still tell you the original product number of the first package of Vanilla wafers that started his many years with Nabisco.

Al was a member of Praise Assembly Church in North Versailles,Pa. where he enjoyed teaching adult Sunday school class, singing in the church choir, working as a deacon, and helping seniors. Al was known for his deep faith and his love for God.

Al joins his wife, Grace E. “Gracie” MacFarlane-Smith, his daughter, Gail Lane-Smith, his parents, and younger brother. Al is survived by his son; Kenneth (Debby) Smith of Universal City, TX, Daughters; Doris (Terry) Luce of Home, PA, Naomi (Jim) Kallas of Punxsatawney, PA, Colleen (Terry) Troxell of Lilburn, GA, and Sandra (Keith) Chotiner of McKeesport, PA. Al is also survived by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brother-in-law.

Al was a strong, quiet, generous, hardworking, and humble man who loved his family, loved ones, and friends in his own special way. Al enjoyed reading and studying his bible, he loved the Lord and had a relationship that was close and personal. He enjoyed listening and singing to old time gospel music. He enjoyed all sports; but, had a special love for baseball. He was a walking/talking trivia champion when it came to the sport of baseball.

Al’s only request was to be remembered as he was, and to be forever loved in our hearts.
